Title of entry: School of Social Work Centennial Timeline Project
About this entry: The timeline project was a three-prong initiative to commemorate the School of Social Work’s centennial.
1. A museum-quality installation in a school hallway to provide a physical experience. We designed custom wallpaper, which depicts the architecture of the four school of social work buildings during the last century. Plaques, photos and memorabilia detail specific moments in the school’s history.
2. We created a four-page spread of the timeline for the centennial issue of our alumni magazine, Ongoing.
3. A digital version of the timeline is featured on the school’s centennial website.
All three versions end with a QR code, which allows our community to submit their own historical moment to the project
The timeline depicts the school’s history from its origins as an undergraduate program, to its current position as one of the world’s most prominent schools of social work. Designed as a brief overview — as opposed to a comprehensive history — the timeline is an interactive, community-sourced project that will expand to reflect contributions from the school alumni, faculty and students.
