Title of entry: The Transforming Power of Vivifying Your Data
About this entry: With the support of Mid-Pacific Institute Vice President of Institutional Advancement Shannon Cleary and professional consultant Bill Connors, Mid-Pacific Institute Advancement Services Manager Robin Kagimoto spearheaded a comprehensive endeavor to cleanup and reorganize their constituent database, which included consolidating Constituent Codes to streamline aggregating data and reporting, restructuring Campaigns, Funds, and Appeals (CFA) to fully take advantage of Raiser’s Edge NXT Web view, cleaning up attributes and tables in the Config folder to eliminate redundancies by performing many global changes and imports to move, consolidate or remove unnecessary data, and increased security to protect data assets and private information from internal and external threats.
The overall result is the Advancement Services database is now better streamlined and simplified, creating clarity and greater efficiency for users. Robin consolidated 57 constituent codes to 12 codes and consolidated 100-plus constituent, gift, proposal, action, education and relationship attributes. Robin completed 1,000-plus gift changes, and modified extensive gift history data via global gift changes, so now one fund can easily be pulled to reconcile financial records with the school’s business office. With gifts and attributes consolidated and moved to their proper places, Raiser’s Edge NXT Web view auto-generated reports can now be used, eliminating time-intensive workarounds and creations of custom reports.
