About this entry: As part of our digital admissions strategy to meet students where they are and to introduce them to the UC Davis community, every prospective student who comments or tags UC Davis or Undergraduate Admissions social media handles with a celebration of their admittance gets a customized response back from UC Davis. In 2021, the UC Davis social media team increased their efforts and created customized graphics to accompany messages back to admitted Aggies, creating a truly unique and personalized experience with the brand. All social media content was created with a design approach that was cohesive with the look and feel of the brand, admissions social content and other admissions touchpoints.
The response to the content, customized graphics and messages was resounding and positive, confirming this tactic brought an immediate and joyful response from new students, their parents and friends. The entire UC Davis community, including alumni, joined in welcoming students on social media as well, so much so that UC Davis trended nationally on Twitter with no paid efforts behind it.
