Title of entry: USE Financial Webinar Series

About this entry: As part of a paid sponsorship with USE credit union, we co-sponsored a series of educational webinars to our alumni, students and parents during FY 20/21. The topics included personal finances for alumni and students along with student loan options. The “Personal Finances for College Students” was targeted to our 1200 SAA members and their parents. Content was presented by a USE representative well versed in the topic and included tools to develop a positive credit history and score, how to create and manage your own budget, ways to track spending, and options for student loan repayment. The next webinar in the series was “Federal VS Private Students Loans.” We focused on our incoming Freshman and current parents to educate on the many options to consider when looking for the right student loan. Our speakers included USE credit union to focus on the private loan piece and for the public piece was our UC Davis Financial Aid Officers from the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office on the campus of UC Davis. The last webinar in the series target our alumni base. The topic was “What does it mean to be Financially Healthy?” The content focused on what true financial health is based and were given the opportunity to confidentially determine their own Financial Health and the steps to take to improve.
