About this entry: Our previous map kiosks had been in place for 15+ years and were severely showing their age. The old design had more horizontally-facing surface area, which allowed water to sit and eventually seep into the interior of the structure, which led to unsightly mold and rust. The redesign was necessary to address these issues and also update the look of the kiosk to reflect the university’s current brand and logo (which were both updated 5+ years ago). The updated design was met with such enthusiasm from our president that he increased the number of kiosks on campus from nine to 20 spread throughout campus. Anecdotally, we’ve heard nothing but positive feedback in the usability and look of the new kiosks as well.
