Title of entry: Principal Gift Stewardship

About this entry: At the beginning of the 2019-2020 year, we received a gift to renovate the Timothy Breidegam Field House. His family had already made significant efforts to provide for students through several named scholarships, athletic facilities, and the Sally Breidegam Miksiewicz Center for Health Sciences (The Sally). With this most recent gift, Moravian wanted to do something meaningful and memorable to show the family’s impact and our appreciation.

We needed to pivot our plans for an on-campus celebration and create a new way to steward our most generous donors and show the impact of their giving despite the pandemic. If they could not come to campus, we would bring the campus to them!

The personalized video was created to focus on the family’s philanthropic interests. The video began with a focus on The Sally and the Helen S. Breidegam School of Nursing and Public Health. The video concluded with the recently renovated Field House. It featured our Athletic Director and student-athletes who shared the impact of the upgrades on our sports teams. The University President shared the impact the space had on the community when we pivoted and used the field house as a COVID vaccination center for the community.

The video was loaded into a box that served as a keepsake and was filled with mementos. A printed report accompanied the box and video and included an overview of lifetime giving, the uses of the facilities, stories of impact, and testimonials from students, faculty, and staff.
