Best of CASE District III Award
Institution: Campbell University
Title of entry: Campbell Magazine
About this entry: Campbell Magazine is the flagship publication of Campbell University, a small private university in rural North Carolina.
Campbell Magazine is published three times a year — each edition is built around a longform cover story, often dealing with national issues like opioid addiction, COVID-19 and the Black Lives Matter movement and Campbell University students, alumni and staff related to these subjects.
The two editions included in this entry focus on two very different subjects. One focuses prison recidivism and how education programs like Campbell's new Prison Teaching Initiative are working to keep men and women out of prison. The second is an in-house feature on Campbell's nationally ranked wrestling program, which six years ago was considered one of the worst programs in the nation.
Campbell Magazine is built around longform storytelling, solid photography, clean design and stories that shed a positive light on the Campbell community.
According to surveys, Campbell Magazine is the preferred method by which our alumni receive news and information about their university. The magazine has earned more than 50 CASE III district awards in the last 10 years and today, each edition reaches more than 60,000 homes.
