Title of entry: Healthcare Fundraising Initiatives

About this entry: Addressing the challenge of fundraising for healthcare-related programs on the heels of COVID-19, our team created a series of initiatives designed to connect with donors in a new way. Weary with pandemic news, we told stories of resilience, future aspirations, student success and overcoming hardship in a series of healthcare-related stories throughout 2021. We also presented a subtle, but present, case for support for the units and programs in the stories. The stories were paired with social media posts and targeted emails, creating a powerful way to engage alumni and friends and lay the groundwork for future fundraising appeals. Stories highlighted Auburn’s School of Nursing, Harrison School of Pharmacy and School of Kinesiology in the College of Education. The features highlighted students, faculty, research and programs and provided development officers and college leaders touchpoint opportunities that have already led to gifts and meaningful engagement with the Auburn Family.
