About this entry: "The story "Missing Out," in our Summer 2020 issue aimed to capture the experience of the Class of 2020. We hired artist Sam Ward and came up with a series of concepts.

The opener depicts our Bell Tower, a popular spot for graduation photos, but there is no one in the cap and gown. Later, a diploma sits in a mailbox, a student works online from an above-the-garage bedroom, and a recognizable academic building is shuttered.

The muted color palate conveys the overall mood of the piece. We see what appears to be dusk in one scene, a sunset in another."
