Title of entry: Dear World...Yours, Cambridge campaign celebration microsite
About this entry: The campaign microsite was a key part of our digital-first end of campaign communications strategy. Communications sought to recognise contributions to the £2.2bn Dear World... Yours, Cambridge (DWYC) fundraising campaign and distinctively convey the impact of the campaign to stakeholders. Our aim was to inspire, inform and engage global audiences through tailored communications. We wanted to:
· Thank donors and volunteers to the campaign and celebrate their giving
· Demonstrate the impact of the campaign across Cambridge and the wider world
· Raise awareness of the impact of philanthropy
· Lay the groundwork for a future campaign.
We built the microsite in Shorthand as it supports a range of storytelling tools to appeal to a variety of audiences. It also renders responsively across mobile, tablet, and desktop and a custom theme ensured we could leverage DWYC branding.
From Europe to Antarctica, the campaign has successfully turned philanthropy into impact reaching every continent, and we illustrated this with a global map of impact examples. We also created a campaign timeline, data visualisations, a campaign video, and curated stories into collections to provide a user experience with varied content and visual appeal.
We drove people to the site via e-newsletters and social media posts across multiple channels over a concentrated period and also via a stewardship mailing.
The microsite provides a comprehensive digital resource that documents and celebrates the impact of the most successful campaign in Cambridge's history, raising over £2.2bn to change people's lives today and transform tomorrow’s world.
