About this entry: This story about former Colby student Will Sideri happening upon a rare manuscript at an estate sale struck a chord with us and resonated with a lot of other people. This story got picked up by mainstream media and appeared in outlets across the country. We liked it because it portrays Colby in all the right ways. The subject, who graduated from Colby and now works at the college, remembered enough from his Global Middle Ages course to recognize the manuscript as potentially rare and immediately contacted his former professor. She helped confirm the unusual nature of his find.

Soon after, the story broke. We heard about it through social media, contacted the subject, and began reporting it out. Three or four phone calls later, we had our story. Within days, it was being widely told the world over, giving Colby unexpected and welcome exposure.
