Title of entry: With ‘Solar Noon’ Clock, Nye Aims to Leave a Legacy

About this entry: Years ago, Bill Nye (Cornell ’77), TV's beloved "Science Guy," designed a clock on our Engineering campus that denotes "solar noon." We covered current students' efforts to repair and update the clock, and Nye's visit to campus to check on their work and host a public test of the instrument. Nye is one of Cornell's most famous living alumni, and we knew any story about him would be of interest to our readers; it also gave us the opportunity to cover a compelling project by current students. The resulting multimedia feature was among our top 15 stories for 2022 in terms of readership.
