About this entry: Audiences engage with social media they like and trust. That trust is gained through showcasing authentic content. Students sit on the cutting edge of trends and can spot unauthentic content right away. Inspired by those social media browsing habits the #MeetYU campaign was born. The theme was a pan-university initiative with all official University social channels participating over a three-week period. Each area had current students show their true student experiences from intramurals, clubs, campus life, experiential education, and more in a unfiltered authentic way. The theme gave students posting power, and had them create/share content, from their perspective and voice, on the various institutional channels. This was done through testimonials, takeovers, and influencers.
The students were selected with diverse backgrounds, various educational focuses, and campus experiences to participate. All posts added the hashtag #MeetYU and a customizable media template so our audience could discover other content to see other student experiences and recognize the larger theme.
