About this entry: Our summer 2022 issue highlighted ways in which Woodward’s students, staff, families, and alumni connect to the larger world. A textured custom cover evokes a classic portmanteau suitcase adorned with stickers relating to countries mentioned inside.

The cover was a wraparound artwork (conceived by our editor and produced by our designer) that evokes an old portmanteau style suitcase adorned with stickers highlighting the countries featured inside the issue. We worked with our printer on a cover treatment that gave the suitcase's surface a pebbled texture while setting off the untreated decals and "reinforced" corners.

Our readership raved about this cover and the way it evoked travel and curiosity about other countries. The tactile element was also a big hit and helped foster engagement with the issue.
