Title of entry: Seven Ways Work Will Change Forever

About this entry: At the height of the pandemic, the United States hurtled from record unemployment rates to the period now known as the “Great Resignation” in less than two years. With companies forced to rapidly adapt to workers’ changing expectations and demands, many people understood that work would never be the same.

The Spring 2022 issue of Coloradan magazine sought to address the post-pandemic workplace with seven short stories featuring University of Colorado Boulder researchers who could speak to new phenomena such as “Zoomtowns” and robot coworkers. To transport readers into this new world, we asked illustrator Brian Rea to create art that could complement and conceptualize the vignettes.
