About this entry: An annual tradition since 2004, the Concordia Golf Classic is one of Concordia University's most successful fundraisers. More than 50% of Concordia University students rely on financial assistance — and ensuring access to higher education for students from all walks of life has been part of our university's DNA since its inception. Our Golf Classic event was conceived 20 years ago as a means to increase financial assistance available to students in need.
Held each year on the Tuesday after Labour Day at an exclusive private golf course outside Montreal, our tournament has become an anticipated event on the social calendar within the local business and banking community, attracting a full house (144 players) for the golf day and dinner.
A team of volunteer co-chairs and co-presidents from the Quebec business and banking communities assist with fundraising and lend their recognizable names to our institution to promote our premier event.
In 2023, we celebrated the event's 20th anniversary, raising $600,000 for student scholarships and bursaries — and bringing the grand total raised over 20 years to $7.6 million.
