About this entry: The “One Emory” strategic framework debuted in 2018. But then came the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, followed by the onboarding of Emory’s next president.
In February 2023, President Gregory L. Fenves announced the renewed “One Emory” plan, based on community feedback, including a new “Ambition and Heart” theme to better reflect the university’s mission and two new focus areas to better encompass how Emory fulfills that mission in the world.
Communications & Marketing and the Office of the President partnered on a comprehensive communications initiative to build awareness and support for the renewed plan. Launched with a speech by the president during Emory’s Charter Week, the initiative continued throughout the Spring 2023 semester with a dedicated website, toolkits for campus leaders, a story series in the university’s central news email publication, related social media posts, campus banners and digital signs, culminating with an inspiring “No Ambition without Heart” brand video introduced at Commencement and featured on the university home page.
The metrics demonstrate the resounding impact of our initiative. With over 24,500 unique page and video views, the One Emory campaign content captivated and resonated with our audience on an impressive scale. Furthermore, the website experienced a remarkable 169% surge in pageviews, signaling heightened interest and engagement from our community. The president’s One Emory speech attracted a standing-room-only crowd eager to immerse themselves in the vision and momentum of this next phase of One Emory. These compelling numbers underscore the tangible success and growing momentum of our communications efforts.
