Title of entry: Hadley Family Recreation & Well-being Center
About this entry: The University of Michigan is committed to incorporating health-promoting values and principles into its mission, vision and strategic plans. Recreational facilities are a key part of this commitment and the university recently broke ground on a new, state-of-the-art facility focused on the total well-being of students, faculty, and staff. To support fundraising efforts for this major undertaking, we partnered with gift officers to develop strategic collateral material. The Hadley Family Recreation & Well-Being Center booklet was developed as a customized publication to engage with prospective donors about the possibility of making a significant gift to name the new facility. The content of the book spoke to the interests and passions of the donor and conveyed how their philanthropy would foster a healthier Michigan community and put their mark on the architectural future of U-M. The result of this strategy was indeed a major gift to the facility which now bears the name of the donors. The impact of their gift will be felt by the entire U-M community for generations to come.
