Title of entry: Mizzou Tigers Roar Louder in Texas
About this entry: The Tigers Roar Louder in Texas Initiative was a collaborative effort between multiple departments to amplify, celebrate and capitalize upon the alumni, student, donor and fan excitement surrounding the Mizzou Football Team’s winning season and subsequent trip to the Cotton Bowl in Arlington, Texas. The Dallas/Ft. Worth Area serves as one of our largest out-of-state markets, while Texas as a whole serves as a recruitment hub for incoming students to Mizzou, so we knew making the most of this opportunity would provide positive engagement, student recruitment, and donor outcomes. In addition to hosting thousands of fans in Dallas and Arlington in the days leading up to the bowl, alumni across the country matched the team’s momentum with a record-breaking number of regional watch parties, a football-themed membership and donation campaign garnered outstanding results, social media engagement goals were exceeded, and applications to Mizzou from high school seniors increased year-over-year. Rather than focusing on a single event, the Mizzou Alumni Association worked creatively to make this opportunity about matching the momentum of our football program and the fan excitement it generated for our entire university and alumni nationwide.
