Title of entry: 2023 Apply K-State mailer

About this entry: his piece was created as a first touchpoint with potential students in our campaign to have them apply to the university. Traditionally this first piece had been a more standard format such as a postcard or something similar with more unique items coming later in the cycle. For this iteration, we want to reverse that approach to try to gain buy-in from students earlier in the process.

We combined simple and inviting language with a bolder design and physical format to create a memorable piece without being overwhelming. Information was kept high-level with an emphasis on this being the start of a journey that we’d be on together with the student. The design focused on strong uses of brand colors and photography to grab attention, and a gatefold was incorporated to give the piece a unique and more interactive form factor than communications from other institutions.
