About this entry: We put together our "Mystery Issue" to show the power of engineering to solve myriad problems that have long vexed humanity. We also wanted to spotlight some of the mysteries our own researchers are trying to unravel with engineering. As always, we had a mix of illustrated stories, first-rate photography and engaging writing to capture our readers' attention. We also embedded four mystery games in the issue and invited our readers to solve them. Nearly 500 of them attempted to do so, although nobody solved the puzzle.
