Title of entry: All Access Dining Promotional Video
About this entry: UBC recently introduced an All Access Dining Plan, required for UBC Vancouver residents who live in one of three residences on campus. The new plan allows students unlimited entries per day to eat what they want, without worrying about cost. To help communicate the new plan to prospective students and their parents, UBC Student Housing and Community Services approached UBC Studios. This project, led by our creative team, also involved engaging with students and multiple stakeholders to ensure an authentic representation of the All Access dining experience while communicating the principles and values of the plan. Our internal staff team took care of all creative aspects, from conception, discovery, storyboarding, filming, and editorial.
The video highlights the diverse range of choices of the program, from UBC’s Food Vision and Values that drive menu design, to climate friendly food labels, and the Zero Waste Action Plan. Of course, we also showcased hot stations, self-serve counters, and options for dietary preferences such as gluten-free and plant-based diets. By working with and involving students, we were able to capture their perspectives and experiences, ensuring that the video resonated with the target audience and promoted the fresh and sustainable food options on campus.
Within 6 months, the video has almost 3.5k views, which is embedded on the All Access Dining webpage, students and parents are clearly keen and interested to learn more. On social, our cut-down has over 9.5k organic views, which is an impressive 76% of total followers (12.4k followers).
