Title of entry: SMU Alumni Homecoming 2023: Eluminix’s MMRS

About this entry: SMU Office of Alumni Relations (OAR)’s strategic partner, Office of Student Life (OSL) organises an annual university-wide SMU Arts Festival to showcase the university’s vibrant co-curricular student life and the talents of students in the various art forms. The 2023 edition of the Arts Festival was the return of a large and full-scale production post-COVID, aptly themed as ‘POST’.
Like a post-pandemic celebration, the SMU Arts Festival 2023 gathered the greatest number of partners to make the festival a huge success. Apart from the showcase of student arts clubs, OAR partnered with OSL to strongly feature alumni group, Eluminix, the official alumni body of the student hip hop dance club, in the Festival’s programme line-up through their ticketed dance production: Memories (MMRS).
To maximise alumni engagement and in support of Eluminix, OAR strategically organised its SMU Alumni Homecoming in conjunction with Eluminix’s two ticketed shows on Saturday, 16 September 2023 held at the same vicinity of the performing theatre.
The format of the SMU Alumni Homecoming Day held on a Saturday, over two sessions:

Session 1 (Afternoon):
• Eluminix’s MMRS show 1: 3 pm to 4.30 pm held at Capitol Theatre
• SMU Alumni Homecoming F&B reception: 4 pm to 7 pm held at Hopscotch restaurant (an SMU-alumni owned business) at the doorstep of Capitol Theatre.

Session 2 (Evening):
• SMU Alumni Homecoming F&B reception: 7 pm to 10:30 pm held at Hopscotch restaurant.
• Eluminix’s MMRS show 2: 8 pm to 9.30 pm held at Capitol Theatre.
