Title of entry: Fordham Prep Rings Closing Bell of NASDAQ

About this entry: On Friday, August 4th, 2023, Fordham Prep President Anthony Day was invited to ring the Closing Bell at the Nasdaq in Times Square. The event was a celebration of Day’s installation as the first full-time lay president in Fordham Prep’s 182-year history.

The Prep worked with alumnus Kevin O’Neill ‘05, Managing Director, Listings and Capital Markets for Nasdaq, event coordinators, and publicists at Nasdaq, to coordinate and publicize the event to the Fordham Prep community and beyond. Alumni, current families, faculty and staff, and friends were invited to take part in the ceremony.

The event helped bring recognition to the institution itself and to the generations of alumni who have made their mark in the financial industry. It also provided an opportunity for current students to network with alumni in attendance. Finally, it strengthened the school’s relationship with the Nasdaq, an international financial brand. As a result, the Prep hosted a networking event for alumni was held at the Nasdaq in December 2023.
