About this entry: The RMIT Alumni Business Directory is an innovative digital platform designed to showcase and support businesses founded or run by RMIT alumni. This platform allows alumni to list their products and services while offering exclusive discounts and special deals to fellow graduates.

More than just a directory, this initiative fosters alumni engagement by creating a community-driven network where alumni can support each other’s businesses, access exclusive offers, and strengthen professional connections. It’s a powerful way to celebrate and elevate the entrepreneurial spirit within the RMIT alumni community.

The platform was officially launched in July 2024 with a networking event featuring a panel discussion with several alumni business owners. They shared insights into the challenges and opportunities they’ve encountered, as well as how their time at RMIT shaped their career journeys. The event also premiered an exclusive hype reel, showcasing a selection of businesses featured in the directory.

In just six months, the Directory has grown to over 300 listings and now features 105 special offers or discounts across 13 industries. The site has received an impressive 21,000 visits to date and contributed to a 25% increase in overall landing page views.

The depth and variety of listings have helped uncover inspiring success stories among RMIT alumni, fueling engaging content across digital channels. This storytelling has played a key role in expanding RMIT’s social media presence, driving a 17% increase in social media followers, with Facebook engagement surging by 34%.
