Best of CASE Asia-Pacific Region Award

Institution: United Nations International School of Hanoi

Title of entry: Through a Child’s Eyes: Authentic Student-Led Storytelling at UNIS Hanoi

About this entry: At UNIS Hanoi, we believe in the power of authentic storytelling to showcase the joy of learning and the strength of our diverse, inclusive community. This video offers a heartwarming glimpse into life at our school—told from the perspective of our youngest learners.

Audience & Strategic Goal:
Designed for prospective families and the broader international school community, the video’s goal was to highlight UNIS Hanoi’s nurturing, student-centred environment. By capturing moments of curiosity, creativity, and connection, we aimed to inspire families to see UNIS Hanoi as the ideal place for their child to grow, learn, and thrive.

What We Did & Why:
Rather than a traditional promotional video, we let our students lead the narrative. Their voices and perspectives bring authenticity, allowing viewers to experience UNIS Hanoi through the eyes of a child. From playground adventures to classroom discoveries, every moment reflects the joy and wonder of early learning.

How We Did It:
Filmed in a documentary-style format with minimal scripting, we encouraged students to share their thoughts and experiences naturally. The result is a genuine, unscripted look at the friendships, exploration, and warmth that define our school.

Results & Impact:
The video resonated deeply with our audience, significantly increasing engagement across social media (almost 100 people watched it in the first hour!) and 8% increase in admissions inquiries for age 3-6 year olds. More than just a glimpse into UNIS Hanoi, it serves as an invitation—welcoming new families to be part of a community where children flourish.
