Title of entry: Floating Leaf

About this entry: On an afternoon walk along the Grand River, University Communications photographer Cory Morse was searching for fauna as part of his ongoing project on GVSU’s campus wildlife.

Captured in October 2024 near the GVSU Boathouse, the photograph reflects the changing seasons with the light cascading along the river. The ideal conditions accentuated the water’s colors and the delicate leaf caught in its reflection, creating a serene and striking composition.

The images was featured in the photo staff's monthly online gallery, "Exposure," which captures moments of campus life for students, faculty, alumni and staff.

The photo also received fifth place in the Campus Environment category of the University Photographers' Association of America's monthly competition.
