Title of entry: Dedication for the Hall of Data Science and AI

About this entry: For the Hall of Data Science and AI dedication, we wanted to utilize the building space while elevating it into a branded atmosphere for donors who supported the building’s construction. When we walked into the space for the first time, our eyes instantly went to the large concrete columns, and we knew these had to be a top priority for our environmental graphics.

After consulting with a local vendor, we decided to wrap three columns that are prominent pillars in the building. Each one displayed a consistent design to tie them together, and this correlated with our large glass window design.

The window wrap became a focal point, drawing in visitors with its striking green circuit-inspired design that symbolized the flow of data and innovation within the building. A-frame signage and a robotics table sign further extended the branding, ensuring a seamless visual identity.

Two columns acted as a frame for the event speakers, so we incorporated a message of gratitude on the front of them. The backside of each column displayed a different phrase beginning with “Here” that amplified the goal and heart of the Hall of Data Science and AI, a facility that will help meet the demand for data-science graduates across all sectors.

This design project pushed beyond Purdue’s traditional brand by incorporating green elements, which tied into the building’s aesthetic while maintaining a strong connection to Purdue’s innovation-driven identity.
