Title of entry: UMSL 2024 Fall Magazine Cover

About this entry: The illustration for this issue of UMSL Magazine was created after the accompanying story was illustrated. The finished piece turned out so well that the editor and art director asked the designer/illustrator Martin Baragiola, an Marketing and Communications employee to illustrate a cover. The image incorporated the face of a real student who was quoted in the story about teens working on coursework of the soon-to-be Wildcare Park in St. Louis. Martin illustrated animals that will be housed at the park and highlighted the student working on the project by using a pencil and notebook. The resemblance of the young woman's illustration to her photo is striking.
