About this entry: Giovanni Paz-Silva was one of seven students selected for our “Outstanding Senior” series, which was published on the public Chico State Today website, on our social media channels, and in our print magazine Chico Statements, as part of a larger series highlighting student clubs on campus. We selected Paz-Silva, who was president of the Society of Physics Students, in part to showcase underrepresented students in the STEM fields and demystify “hard” sciences. We photographed him against a stunning backdrop at Roth Planetarium, which offered dreamy atmospherics—a stellar student and leader with both feet firmly planted on the ground while gazing up at a limitless future.

Collectively, the photo was viewed more than 1,500 times in the Chico State Today stories; it was featured in Chico Statements, a hard copy magazine distributed to 70,000 alumni; featured in a monthly e-newsletter to 80,000 alumni; social post garnered 27,620 views.
