About this entry: Being one of the chosen few to don the legendary orange mascot can be an honor of a lifetime. But with all the excitement and happiness it brings, it also comes with the challenging responsibility of holding the secret…that is, until graduation day.

In any one year, the much beloved Syracuse University Mascot is inhabited by a team of students who audition for the honor of entertaining SU fans. Since being named the official mascot of the university in the mid 90’s, the student OTTO performers have been required to keep their secret identity hidden from family friends… even their roommates until the end of their senior year.

Keeping the traditions alive and creating lifelong friendships is what it means to #BeOrange.
