Title of entry: Boston University, Arts x Sciences Magazine

About this entry: The 2023 edition of the College of Arts & Sciences’ alumni magazine represented a complete redesign and renaming of a magazine that had been largely unchanged for more than a decade. The result of that process, Arts x Sciences, reflects the results of a year-long effort to rebrand the college and, in parallel, to reinvent its magazine to better reflect what is a dynamic, interdisciplinary school where the combination of liberal arts and sciences is far greater than the sum of their parts—and the results are solving real-world problems. We accomplished this by identifying stories that displayed the power of collaboration, revealed unexpected ideas and findings, and highlighted the passion of the Arts & Sciences community—and we presented those stories with a bold new design and dramatic photography.
